Liberty’s New Year’s Drama
New Year’s Eve and all was going well until Liberty felt like not going to either party. She was bummed out because she hasn’t seen her family plus it seemed like all the men in her life had other plans except being with her. Dimitrius all of a sudden had to watch his daughter, which was cool but Liberty knew he had a girlfriend, who was not his baby mom. D is always some jealous stuff with her maybe its because his a chef at a restaurant somewhere in Manhattan. She feels like she has to walk on eggs shells when his around. He makes her heart flutter and butterflies in her stomach. They went out for 1 year. She thought they were going to start a relationship and all but for some reason he stop talking to her for 7 months than surfaced again. It’s either he regrets talking to whoever his talking too because his been coming around more and more but it seems like a far cry from that thing they once had, passion and gleams of love. They are the same age 32 and both very independent; sometimes too much if you ask me. Liberty is starting to think of D as Mr. Big from Sex in the City same characteristics.
Jack was visiting his family in New Jersey, where both of them grew up there. He has his own construction company plus house and totally stabled. She should have gone back home herself. She misses Jack and all the trouble they use to get into when they were teenagers. They fell in love and were totally interrupted by the whole going to jail crap for some years. The fate was dealt to them both. They grew apart and are now catching up with there life. Jack started looking for her as soon as he got out of jail through her family. She was at the time dating her ex-boyfriend Cole, who was totally abusive and she left him. He was there for her through that ordeal and more. Liberty was kind of glad that he showed up when he did, Jack always had the best timing in the world. Liberty loves Jack till this day and never forgot about him. He made her feel safe and wanted always. His touches made her knees week but his older than her. She couldn’t believe he actually remember that she was going to marry him. That was the first thing he said when they saw each other so when is our wedding date. Wow! The only problem is that he lives far and wants her to move to New Jersey like right now. Liberty wants too really bad but she has to move her stuff and what about her job and everything else. She knows that it’s only the next state over but still leave New York and the fast pace for what? At this point, Liberty hasn’t found the love she wants the kind Jack gave her back in the days. Can he even still do that? She wonders what it would be like if they were together from back than to now.
Liberty has dated a few guys but no one like Jack or Dimitrius. She thinks its lust with a mix of passion for Dimitrius but doesn’t love him like Jack.
Now there is Mr. Pro Boxer, Miguel plus his in real estate/finance and his trying to buy a nightclub right now and whole lot of other things too. They met thru friends and at first it seems like he would be a great boyfriend until all he wanted to do was sleep with her and it was so transparent. Liberty felt like a hooker at that point but with out all that Pretty woman crap. At one point, you figure its because your Puerto Rican and all you want to do is have sex or that your crazy. That’s what most guys think of us Ricans. Liberty just figures sure why not let the little Mexican amuse her. It isn’t hurting anyone but him. She isn’t attached to him or bothers calling him at all. His calling her but sometimes it seems like an after thought.
So let’s get back to the whole New Year’s Eve thing. She did end up calling her friends Kate, who is Italian and a college student. She’s studying to be a Pediatrician. Kate is 21 years old with a lot of book knowledge but not enough street smarts. Keila is a 42-year-old Puerto Rican and an accountant for one of the largest financing company in New York. She rarely has time for anyone let alone for us, but somehow manages to pull it off. Teresa is Japanese and a 30-year-old law clerk. She was born in Japan and was raised in New Jersey. Liberty and Teresa has been friends like forever and than there’s Monica, a movie director, who is African-American and 36-yeas-old. She gets to travel to all kinds of exotic places and the girls get to tag along if work allows it.
She ended up hooking up with them that night and went to a nightclub that was playing Freestyle and Reggeaton music all night long. They are not married but two of the girls had boyfriends who eventually tag-along with us. Kate and Teresa had a lot going for them such as Kate’s boyfriend is a Super model in New York his name is Jared. His nothing that she is use to as far as guys goes. Jared completely attentive when his around and all but the girls think there’s more to him than he leads on. Teresa’s boyfriend, Keng who is an Engineer and she’s in an arranged marriage because of her culture. Liberty thinks its cool but at the same time kind of barbaric. Both guys are good dancers and a lot of fun to be with. So all 7 of us took to the streets and partied the night away till the New Year.
The next day was crazy; Liberty had over 20 messages left on her voice mail and text messages. She spent the morning with a can of Pepsi and her messages. For once she felt loved and that was a nice feeling too.
