Liberty Lost in a Translation (Pt. 1)

Liberty was glad when everyone left her house. She decided to walk down the street of 130th and Amsterdam St. When she decided to head back to grab some coffee, it started to rain and than several lighting flashed across the sky. She ran for cover but all of a sudden bumped into this guy. Liberty almost fell into the streets until he grabbed her and pulled her in close to him. “You okay? He said. Liberty just stared at him with her mouth open. He was the most gorgeous creature she has ever seen. “Yea, y—yea!” She said stuttering. He laughed a little than told her she can stand with him under the umbrella. She agreed to do that. It felt like forever, actually 20 minutes until he said, “do you want to get out of this rain and go the coffee shop across the street?” She agreed to go.

After running across the street and getting soak and wet, she was ready for that big cup of coffee. He waved to the waitress and ordered two big cups. She looked at him and was wondering was he reading her mind or something. Liberty looked away quickly when he looked at her. “What is your name?” she said curiously. “Lil Street” he replied to her. Her mind was racing and he finally took her wet coat of her. She blushed and turned to look away. He laughed watching how this lady look so innocent but yet seem like a woman in every sense. Her lips were so small but yet so kissable and her long hair that looked straight but the rain now has made it really curly. He could tell by her hard nipples that she was cold and need some serious comforting. Her wet clothes left no trace unturned and can see her every curves. He need to look away before his partner in crime started showing its head.

“So, Lil Street? What is that you exactly do? Oh! By the way my name is Liberty. I didn’t mean to be rude by not telling you my name.” She said. “I am a stereo installer, and a student. How about you?” Liberty looked at him and said, “I am a record label owner.” He had a shocked look on his face. “Oh, must be fun.” He turned away to put some distance between that information he found out. Liberty made a quick phone call to her assistant and was getting ready to leave when Lil Street got up and held her hand, he said, “Where are you going? When can I see you again?” Liberty turned to him and said, “I don’t know” then she ran out the door to catch a cab. Lil Street was determined to find her and make Liberty his.

Liberty was in the cab when she was like, I can’t believe this. I let this guy from nowhere get me coffee and we actually talked. What was I thinking? She said to herself. The cab driver turned around and told her they were at the place. She paid him and jumped out of the cab and ran to her townhouse. The rain wouldn’t let up for 4 more hours. She didn’t answer the phone and just sat by the window and looked out into the dark, cold streets. Next thing you know the doorbell rang and she went to answer the intercom when on the other end was Lil Street was at the end and said, “Liberty! It’s me Lil Street open up it’s cold out here.” Liberty was excited but at the same time kind of worried on how he found her. She said, “Why should I? I just had coffee that’s all and how did you find me?” “All good questions but if you would like to know the answers let me in, Please.” He stood there for a minute than the door was unlocked and she was standing in the doorway with a purple tee and boxers on. “I’m listening,” she said. He grabbed her and kissed her passionately like she was never kissed before. “Oh!” she said all nervous. She let him in and they sat in the living room. Lil Street was looking around and turned to her “You live here alone?” and she responded, “Yes, all to myself. Why?” “No wonder you ran into me” Liberty looked at him and was about to ask him why when he asks where the kitchen was and if there was anything to drink hot. She went to the cabinets to find some hot cocoa. He had her sit down and took over the kitchen and made them some hot cocoa. “You shouldn’t be here, Lil Street”, said Liberty; “I am suppose to be excepting a marriage proposal from another guy.” He looked at her “but you haven’t excepted?” “No, I haven’t” He laughed and said, “What’s taking you so long to answer him than?” “It’s not funny. I don’t know why I am not happy,” she said to him in tears. “Have you thought maybe he wasn’t meant for you?”

Liberty got up and wanted to change the subject and he didn’t push it. She went into the living room and asked him if he wanted to see a movie and he was cool with that. They sat in the living room, where she found a vamp movie and asked him if he wanted some popcorn. He agreed to that and got the movie ready. Lil Street asked Liberty if she was planning on sitting way over there. She got up and sat next to him and he put his arm around her. Liberty just laid her head on his shoulder and pulled the blanket up. He was wondering if the fireplace worked because he could start it up for her, if she was cold. She told him to go ahead and she will pause the movie. Liberty waited patiently for him to finish and he came to sit right back in his spot. They sat in silence watching the movie together. Her phone rang and she didn’t want to answer it, so she let it ring. Then the doorbell rang and she got up paused the movie and went to the door upset. Jack was standing there and she was even more bewildered at the thought that he just got out of the hospital and went to her house unannounced. “Are you going to ask me in?” said Jack. “No, I am not. You just can’t come here and thinking its okay! I have company over and you have to leave I am still upset with you!” Lil Street got up to see what all the commotion was about. Jack looked at him and he was asking Liberty if she was okay. Jack yelled, “Who are you and what are you doing at my fiancée’s house?” Liberty jumped in and said, “Who the hell do you think you are, I haven’t accepted your proposal and I wasn’t planning too! Get out now!” Lil Street was going to leave but she turned to him and told him to please stay. He was thinking about it than he went to the living room and sat down to wait for her. Jack was dumbfounded and was totally angry with her. He turned around and left walking down the street. He vowed that he wouldn’t give up so easily. He didn’t know whom that guy was but he wasn’t going to let him have her neither.

Liberty slammed the door and she apologized to Lil Street and he told her not to worry about it. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to him and looked into her eyes and kissed her so softly that she felt like she was on the famous cloud nine. This man has captured her heart with every kiss and touch. What is she going to do?
